North Surrey Minor Football’s first Position Specific Academy is in the books.
The 3 session Academy took place the past 3 Tuesday evenings for the first hour of practice at a central location in Bear Creek Park. Over 200 Atom, Peewee & JB players had a blast while receiving elite coaching from North Surrey’s top staff and guest coaches including Angus Reid, Kito Poblah & Jordan Linnen. A few Bears players were also asked to participate in the coaching duties to help out at their specific positions. Thanks to Bash Sise-Odaa, Simon Odong, Chase Head, Colby Peters, David Lagou and Nick Wain.
The Academy’s purpose is to expose the players to specific mechanics and techniques to their position, to help new coaches learn the proper coaching techniques and to promote a Team North Surrey culture amongst our association. We believe it accomplished all three goals and we look forward to improving it each year during pre-season.

This project has been initiated in an effort to raise the level of performance of our players as well as the knowledge of our coaches. Check out our information sheet here for more details.
