It is with a heavy heart that we report that former NSMF T-Bird, Hawk and Eagle, Brandon Nestor passed away on the February 25, 2017 from a head injury after he collapsed in his home on February 11. Pictured here with his daughter, Ciarra, Brandon was only 22 when he passed. His whole family was involved at North Surrey with his step-dad, Darren, as a coach, his mom, Kelley coached cheer and his sister, Tiffany, was a cheerleader.
Brandon loved his 6 years playing for North Surrey so as a tribute to Brandon, his family will be having a balloon release at Bear Creek Park to celebrate his life as a player and one of his passions.
The balloon release will be held on April 29 2017, at 2:00 pm. Please come out to show your NS respect for one of our own.
North Surrey Minor Football is proud to present longtime NS cheerleader, Callie Saunderson, with the 2016 Lifetime Achievement Award. This rare award is given out to any NSMF football player or cheeleader that starts playing or cheering at the earliest division possible and participates every year consecutively to the oldest age allowable.
On top of this award, Callie was also crowned the NSMF 2017 Cheer Queen and recently won a 2nd Place award at the 2016 Cheer Competition in Senior Pairs. She is also a 2016 VMFL Scholarship recipient.

The world today with social media and internet enables an opportunity for student-athletes to be recruited across the country and across borders. It has become highly competitive but opportunistic for the student-athlete if they familiarize themselves with the recruiting game.
The process can be overwhelming for the high school athlete who is pulled in several directions the process can add stress to an already busy student-athlete schedule. However, by taking the proper steps you can take control of your own path and enjoy the process. Scholarships, support, resources and more can be tapped into as you build your path for the future. Coach Dino will present strategies and a process that will build your plan for recruiting, including your personal profile, a strong video that will maximize exposure to the places you want to go.
Student-athletes and their families will come to appreciate the opportunity. The process also becomes a development stage that will be used again and again throughout the transitions and changes in life.
