2012 Playoffs Explained

The playoff scenarios are as follows:
Flag Division
Nov 10th will be the annual Flag Jamboree featuring all flag teams. To be held at Coquitlam’s Mackin Park. Times to be determined.

Atom Division

This year we will be adding two more playoff series with two additional trophies. Season ending positions of 1st through to 8th will compete in the traditional VMFL playoff format starting Nov 11th. The VMFL championship game will be played Nov 25th at the home park of the team with the best record at seasons end. Optionally there may be a game for the Championship winner versus the VCFL Champion Dec 1st if agreed upon by both leagues.

For positions 9th through 12th they will compete for the President’s Cup starting Nov 11th with the Championship game Nov 17th at Mercer Stadium in New West.

Positions 13 through 15 will compete for the Commissioner’s Cup. The team that finishes 13th would receive a bye and will play the winner of game between position 14 and 15th place on Nov 17th at Mercer Stadium in New West.

Peewee Division

The top 8 teams will compete for the VMFL Championship game to be played Nov 25th at the home park of the team with the best record at seasons end. Provincials will be held the week after at McLeod Stadium in Langley.

Junior Bantam Division

The top 8 teams will start their VMFL Playoffs one week earlier than most on Nov 3rd. The VMFL Championship game to be played Nov 18th at the home park of the team with the best record at seasons end. The VMFL Champion will then host a Semi-Final Provincial game against the VCFL Champion. Winner of that competes in Provincials that will be held the week after at McLeod Park Stadium in Langley.

Bantam 12-man Division

The top 4 teams will compete for the VMFL Championship. Playoffs start Nov 11th with the Championship game to be played Nov 18th at the home park of the team with the best record at seasons end. Provincials will be held Dec 2nd at McLeod Park Stadium in Langley.

Midget Division

The top 12 teams will compete for the Provincial Championship. The top four teams to finish at the end of regular season will get a bye the first week of playoffs. Teams 5 through 12 will start the playoffs Nov 10th/11th. The winners will then be re-seeded to play the top four teams that had a bye. Top two teams standing will compete in the Provincial Championship game will be held December 2nd at McLeod Park Stadium in Langley. The VMFL Championship trophy will go to the VMFL team that finishes the highest in the standings at the end of the regular season.
